I was a first time buyer and I found the staff very helpful and supportive throughout the process of buying a house. It seems they have had some bad reviews on here in the past but I think they must've cleaned up their act in recent years as neither me or my partner had any problems dealing with them.
My wife and I are very frustrated with the way this firm dealt with the purchase of our house. There is hardly anyone who is willing to speak to us and we are always trying to speak to a responsible solicitor. Their "conveyancing executives" give facetious and sarcastic comments about their new case tracking system. That seems to mean that the solicitor is using it as a front to avoid speaking to their clients.
After the conveyancing work was done, I found out that I was subject to common land maintenance payments. This was not discussed, nor did the solicitor transfer my share in the common land. The firm admitted to inadequate professional service after I lodged a complaint with the Society for the Supervision of Solicitors. The Law Society upheld my complaint, noting that the firm refused to apologise. They concluded that the firm provided a poor service. This complaint should have been dealt with by the firm. The escalation to the Law Society was due to inadequate client care.
