    We were entertaining friends from Switzerland and thought that Spice Cottage would be a good venue as we had previously eaten here and it seemed OK. However our recent experience was a disaster the service was awful and the manager an Indian Basil Fawlty continually screamed through the kitchen door at his staff. The waiters seemed to be run ragged and could not cope. Another customer accidentally caught the dish containing his curry with his elbow and it cascaded all over the carpet in the centre of the restaurant. The staff thought the best solution to this was to lay a couple of kitchen towels on top of the mess rather than clean it up. We were rebuked by the manager for asking for drinks when he was taking our food order, we later had to remind him he still had not asked what drinks we required. The meat in the food did not taste good and I would question its source. I have eaten in probably hundreds of Indian Restaurants in my lifetime and this was by far the worst I have ever encountered
